Long weekends and bridge days in Bangladesh
A long weekend is three or more days off in a row made by a nationwide holiday and the weekend. A bridge day is a working day with a day off on both sides: one leave day there joins a holiday to the weekend, or two holidays to each other.
Long weekends (3)
- Friday 19 February to Sunday 21 February 2027: 3 days off, with International Mother Language Day.
- Thursday 5 August to Saturday 7 August 2027: 3 days off, with July Mass Uprising Day.
- Thursday 16 December to Saturday 18 December 2027: 3 days off, with Victory Day.
Bridge days (1)
- Thursday 15 April: one leave day gives 4 days off in a row, Wednesday 14 April to Saturday 17 April 2027 (next to Bengali New Year).
Regional holidays are left out of both lists: they depend on where the employee works.
