Public holidays 2027
Public holidays 2027 by country
Dates for 204 countries, with the long weekends and bridge days they make and a calendar file for each one.
Why public holidays matter for leave and payroll
Working days
A public holiday is a day off for most employees, so it changes how many working days a month has. Leave plans, rosters and deadlines all start from that count.
Payroll
Many countries pay extra for work done on a public holiday, and the rule for a holiday inside a leave period differs from country to country. The dates here are the starting point; the rule is local.
Regions
In some countries the list depends on the state or province where the employee works. Each country page shows which holidays are nationwide and which are regional.

Add a country to your calendar
Every country page has a download link for a calendar file (.ics) with one all-day event per public holiday. To subscribe instead, paste the file's address into your calendar app:
- Google Calendar: Other calendars, then From URL.
- Outlook: Add calendar, then Subscribe from web.
- Apple Calendar: File, then New Calendar Subscription.
Where the dates come from
Source: Nager.Date, checked on . A day counts as a public holiday here when Nager.Date types it "Public"; bank, school, optional and observance days are listed on the country page but not counted. A government can change a date after this check, so confirm the dates that payroll depends on.
To count working days between two dates with a country's holidays taken out, use the vacation calculator.
For HR teams
Keep public holidays next to leave balances
In HourSquare you load a country's public holidays, pick the states, cantons or provinces that apply, mark any day as not a day off, and add your own. They show on the team calendar and never count as leave.
Free forever for teams of up to 10 people.
