UAE salary calculator — gross is net.
The short version: the UAE doesn't tax personal income, so an expat's gross salary is the same as take-home. This works out the details that still matter — your end-of-service gratuity, and pension if you're a UAE national. Monthly figures in dirhams, updating as you type.
Your inputs
Leave this unchecked if you're an expat — there's nothing to deduct. GPSSA pension contributions only apply to UAE and GCC nationals.

Why there's nothing to deduct
No personal income tax
The UAE doesn't levy income tax on individuals — salaries, freelance income, and investment returns all land untaxed. The 9% corporate tax introduced in 2023 hits company profits, not employee pay. So when an offer says 20,000 AED a month, that's 20,000 in your account.
Gratuity is your safety net
Instead of a pension, expats build an end-of-service gratuity. Stay a full year and you've earned roughly three weeks of basic pay; the longer you stay, the faster it grows. It's paid as a lump sum when you leave — worth factoring into any "should I move jobs" maths.
Pensions for nationals
UAE and GCC nationals are enrolled in GPSSA. Under the 2023 reform, anyone who joined from October 2023 contributes 11% of pensionable salary, with the employer paying around 12.5% and the government topping up. Nationals enrolled before then stay on the legacy 5%. It's charged on basic plus fixed allowances, not the total package.
Basic vs total package
UAE contracts usually split pay into a basic salary plus housing, transport, and other allowances. Gratuity and GPSSA are calculated on the basic portion only — so two people on the same headline salary can end up with different gratuity if their basic-to-allowance split differs.
